Review: Lea Clark’s Celebration Dress

Today I’m combining some pictures I took a long time ago with what you, my amazing readers, said you wanted to see. (more reviews, more of Brooke) So, I have some pics of Brooke modeling Lea’s Celebration dress. (I’m not certain she’s wearing the gold shoes that came with the dress. Oops. I will still give you my opinion on them, though.)

Lea’s celebration dress is made of a soft white material. It is sleeveless, and the skirt has 3 ruffly layers. There is intricate embroidery at the neckline and the border of each skirt layer. The thread colors are beautiful and go perfectly with Lea’s tropical theme.

There is a gold belt attached to the dress. It’s thin and sparkly. It adds quite a bit to the dress, though I feel that if the dress didn’t have the belt, it would seem more elegant than it actually is. It might be more convenient if it was removable, then the dress could be fancy or a bit more casual.

The hairband can be used for your doll’s hair or as a necklace. It’s made of beads: here’s a couple of closeups.

^^she looks like a redhead lol^^

It does a great job of sweeping her hair back and keeping it out of her face.

Three strings of beads, with an elastic band keeping it on her head. It’s a bit chunky and I think the dress is better without the hairband, but it is cute.

^^Closeup of the BEAUTIFUL embroidery^^

{image via ebay, this does NOT belong to me}

The gold espadrilles are absolutely adorable. They have a braided…thing as a layer and make your doll look a bit taller. 😉 They’re like chunky heels. Super cute! They velcro in the back, but anyone can easily slip them on without using the velcro.  They have two straps that wrap around the ankle, and a butterfly with a tiny stone on it. Like a lot of AG shoes, they have a huge tag. I cut it off. Problem solved! 🙂

The dress fits snugly and looks so, so, cute!😍

Bonus photos:

Fun fact: these pictures were taken in my parent’s bathroom! Weird, right? I liked the lighting, it’s really different.

A lot of my you have also been saying that my site keeps crashing. I resized these photos, so it SHOULDN’T crash this time, but do let me know if it does.

Look out for an Outtakes post! 🙂

Review: PWP Summer Hoodie Set

WATTTTTEEEERRRRMELLLLOOOOOONNNNNNNN.

Sorry XD my brother’s eating watermelon so…yeah!

Hey, everyone! Arianna requested a review of this outfit, so here it is. But before we get into that, I just want to ask: How many of you can see the pictures in my latest posts? I can usually see them just fine but once in a while I can’t.I don’t know what’s up with that, does anyone know how to fix it? :O I just really hope I figure it out because I spend a lot of time taking pictures and even longer putting them into the post.  Christian Homeschooler suggested it might be because some people are not logged into a google account. So I logged out of mine, and then I couldn’t see the pictures. So maybe you are right about that…I’m so sorry! I am trying to fix it, I promise. 🙂

Let’s start with the top.

It is a white sleeveless hoodie, made with stretchy ribbed material. It’s fairly easy to put on, and it’s not bulky at all.The hood came like this, folded to one side. I like it flat because when I tried to unfold it, It looked like an empty little bag so I just kept it this way.  You could probably straighten it, though. You can see that it comes that way by looking at the pictures from the AG website. This polka-dotted fabric lines the inside of the hood. The hood on Ruthie’s head. It sort of messed up her hair, and who needs a hood in summer? But I guess it’s cute. It gives her a kind of tough look, which I like.

Closeup of the design. There’s a small blue AG tag. Some AG outfits have the standard metal tag, while some have a cloth one. The skirt has a tag identical to the one on the shirt. It’s sorta kinda unnecessary. It’s made of the same material lining the hoodie, and I like that. Lastly, the bracelet! It’s made of colorful beads and elastic cord. It matches the shirt perfectly: It’s a fun and summery accessory. Plus, it can be worn as an anklet! 🙂

Footsies! 😛

Overall:

Practicality: 3/5 (You could make the bracelet yourself, and the skirt’s  a little too short.)

Cuteness: 5/5

Worth it: 4/5 (While it’s VERY cute and summery, it doesn’t come with shoes. But considering it was a PWP and costed less, I will say it was worth the $$$.) 🙂

Realistic: 5/5 {Meaning would I wear it or not (Yes!)

Extra pics:

I hope that was helpful, and as always, feel free to request any post in the comments! I’m always happy to do reviews or any other post.

Ending post #80 on my blog,

P.S.Look out for a few surprises…coming soon to  So Sugar Sweet! 🙂

Review: Truly Me #59

Hi! Today, I will be reviewing my newest doll, TM 59. She is such a cutie! I tried to put as much detail as possible into this review, so I hope you enjoy! DSC02201.JPG

DSC02209.JPGLet’s start with her facial features. She has light skin, the normal feathered eyebrows, and deep chocolaty brown eyes. (Like Julie’s) Her lips are peachy colored and she looks very innocent. 😉 DSC02211.JPGDSC02213.JPGHer hair is beautiful! It is a light brown color and has natural highlights, though they are not so noticeable as Grace Thomas’s. TM 59’s hair is really soft and I am kind of a perfectionist about it- I hate when it gets messed up. The only downside is that this happens very easily. :/ DSC02218.JPGNow for the outfit! It’s the standard Truly Me meet outfit, a lilac dress with blue flats. DSC02219.JPGThe belt has strands of sparkly gray thread woven in. It ties around the waist, giving the dress a modern look. DSC02225.JPGThe metal American Girl tag is on the bottom right corner. In this photo, you can also see the pinkish tulle with sequins on top. DSC02240.JPGHer underwear is…nothing special. It’s a pinkish color with a white trim. Just something I noticed- my Saige’s underwear has these little things sticking out from the side and looks sort of strange when she wears leggings. These undies don’t really have that, thankfully.

DSC02238.JPGHer left hand feels rougher than any of my other dolls’, and if you look very closely, you can see a thumbprint. It’s hard to tell from this photo, though. I’d also read about this on another blog, when another doll was being reviewed. I think my friend’s Grace doll has this, too, so it might just be the newer dolls. Not all dolls have this, probably. I like her hand, it makes her even more special. DSC02231.JPGHer sparkly blue flats are easy to get on and off and match with tons of other outfits. Well, that wraps up my review! Extra photos: DSC02214.JPGDSC02230.JPGDSC02235.JPGDSC02236.JPGBye!

Oh, and random fact: I got contact lenses! My eyes kinda hurt, I’m still getting used to them, but I’m glad I don’t have to wear my glasses all the time.

What’s In My AG Collection-Books

DSC02173.JPGHey! Today I thought it would be fun to show you what AG books I have, and a little bit about them, such as things I liked/disliked. Onward! DSC02174.JPGThis quiz booklet came with my doll’s cat, Praline. It’s full of fun questions like this: DSC02175.JPG

I loved taking all the quizzes, it was fun. DSC02176.JPGThis one came with my GOML Neela doll.

It was amazing, the events were totally realistic and Neela is such a brave character. DSC02179.JPGGotta love this illustration. 😛 ❤DSC02180.JPGDSC02181.JPGMini Mysteries 2 and 3. These two were my favorite books up until I read Harry Potter. XD 😛DSC02182.JPGThis one came with my Ruthie doll. Ruthie is such a kind and loyal friend, not to mention she is fearless! Kit and Ruthie have always been my favorite historical dolls. DSC02184.JPGDSC02186.JPGSaige came with her first book, and I bought Saige Paints The Sky. First of all, let me just say that I LOVE the covers. The illustrations are so well-done, they’re very eye-appealing. The actual story, well, I can’t say it was exactly my favorite, but it had some parts that I  really liked, like the Day of Beige press conference, and Saige’s hot air balloon ride. DSC02188.JPG(I got this at a garage sale, that’s why her face looks funky) Although my personality and life is nothing like Nicki’s, I loved her book. The journey she had training Sprocket and her friendship with Becca had some ups and downs, but it all worked out fine in the end.  And her hair looks just GORGEOUS on the cover! BTW, the older GOTY books (like this one)  are thicker-they have more pages. I personally like the longer books better, but I understand why they made them shorter. DSC02190.JPGAlthough I didn’t particularly love the Mckenna doll, I LOVED her story. Part of me thinks it’s because I’m a gymnast, too. 🙂 The lesson she learned was a great message to young girls and I’m sure many of them could relate to her struggles at school, too. Her tutor, Josie, is very sweet and smart, fun in her own way. DSC02192.JPGMeet Caroline has some great values stuck in there, I loved how courageous she was. DSC02193.JPGI can’t say this is my favorite, either, it’s not really…enjoyable…but it has some great hygiene tips and could help growing girls. Um. So. Yeah, I’ve got nothing else to say. DSC02196.JPGThis one is full of fun crafts and recipes. Ot even has a poster! It was totally “sweet”! XD DSC02198.JPGI also have Kit’s original book set. I enjoyed reading each one, and in my opinion, Kit’s books were the best. My favorite was Kit’s Surprise, both Kit & Ruthie faced some problems which they figured out in the end. It was interesting to read about the Great Depression.

What’s your favorite AG book?

AG Haul+Reviews!

Hey! DSC01837

Hmmm…what could this be? What? What made you guess a package from American Girl? 😉 Oh. The title gave it away, didn’t it? LOL! Well, today I will be reviewing my latest purchases from the AG website. (Thank you, mom and dad!) Just to be clear, I am not trying to brag in any way. Let’s see what I got! DSC01841.JPGOh, and this is the catalog…ok, I’ll stop stalling.DSC01845.JPGMINI FELICITY!! She is so cute! DSC01897.JPGShe comes with a mini abridged version of Meet Felicity.DSC01896.JPG

Her limbs are tight and her head can move. DSC01939.JPGDSC01940.JPGHer dress is a light lavender color and has flowers printed on it. It’s made of some dri-fit kind of material, and is a little stiff at first.DSC01941.JPGHer shoes remind me of Ruthie’s meet shoes. Nevertheless, they are well-made…..but may be hard to get on her feet if you take them off, with her tights and all. DSC01942.JPGI don’t have a single complaint about her copper red hair, which comes tied in a ponytail with a bow. Felicity’s hair is soft, wavy, and bouncy, not to mention that her pincurls are ADORABLE! DSC01944.JPG

Next, I will review the Spring Breeze outfit, modeled by Saige.DSC01923.JPGThe headband matches the whole outfit and has sparkles on it. The sparkles don’t come off. I like that the headband is stretchy, since I’ve had problems with other AG headbands. However, I wouldn’t recommend bending this one, because it’s fragile. DSC01924.JPGThe mesh layover has little diamonds on it. It has strong velcro in the back. The only problem I see is that younger girls might snag the dress, so you have to be careful. It also has a bow tied of to the side. You can’t undo the bow. DSC01928.JPGThe layover off the doll. DSC01925.JPGI just love the sandals. They have the same mesh tied in a bow, and have a silver strap. They aren’t too hard to get on. DSC01926.JPGThe leggings are slightly lighter than the dress. They’re capri length and easy to get on.DSC01930.JPGHere is the dress alone. I’m not a fan of the the metal tag, but I am obsessed with the skirt! DSC01927.JPGThe back- including the layover. I don’t like the way this looks with it in the back, but I’m just being picky. DSC01931.JPGMoving on to Brooke in the Red Hearts Ruffle Dress! I love it so much!DSC01932.JPGIt’s so….PRETTY! This dress has a layer of lighter pink fabric under the patterned skirt, which is semi-visible through the thin top material. DSC01933.JPGCloseup of the pattern. DSC01935.JPGThe strappy sandals have a little heart and are my favorite sandals out of all of mine! DSC01936.JPGThe headband is a simple red ribbon, it’s easy to style your doll’s hair with it on. I like it a lot. 🙂DSC01910.JPGSome of Grace’s things were on sale, so I got her opening night outfit!DSC01922.JPGThe fan-bow thingymabobber is a cotton-candy pink color, like the rest of the dress. While it’s cute, I would’ve preferred it was a bow. DSC01913.JPGThe dress itself is stunning. It would look amazing on any doll! It has sparkles and a few layers of tulle.DSC01914.JPGCloseup of the middle-the tulle is uneven and gets longer until it matches the length of the dress. I like this, however, I know some people are annoyed with it. DSC01919.JPGBack view.DSC01915.JPGI will  be using these sandals a LOT. They are super easy to slip onto your doll’s feet and are really realistic. DSC01916.JPGThe sleeves are transparent and delicate.DSC01917.JPGShe looks so sweet!

Overall, I was very happy with my purchases and would definitely recommend all of them!

Thanks again to my parents, and all of you for reading this super long post!

Review:Girls Of Many Lands Neela

DSC01544.JPGHello, my fellow humans! 😛 Today I am reviewing the Girls Of Many Lands Neela doll. GOML was a line of dolls AG produced in 2002. They are very pretty, and rare. My aunt found Neela for me over the summer. So! Onto the review.

I didn’t take a comparison photo, but Neela is about 12 inches tall, so that’s as tall as Barbies are. DSC01546.JPG

She has quite beautiful facial features: brown eyes and medium skin. The GOML dolls do not have open mouths like the 18″ dolls. (Well, except for Kaya :D) On her forehead, you might see that little reddish dot thing. That is called a bindi and women wear these in India. DSC01547.JPGA closeup of her outfit: It is an orange saree (a traditional indian outfit) with Silver embellishments stiched on. It is very well-made and has a lot of detail. DSC01548.JPGHer blouse is orange with a bit of a shimmer, and the sleeves stop right above her elbow. DSC01549.JPGHere is the bottom. This part of her saree is pleated and has the same little design. DSC01550.JPGThese strings close up her blouse. They are really intricate, so I’m not sure if they can be undone. I do not ever change Neela out of her outfit, since I don’t want to mess it up.DSC01551.JPGShe comes on a doll stand, like all the GOML dolls. It is kinda hard to snap her legs in there because of her dress. DSC01552.JPGNeela’s hair runs down her back in a neat plait. It is very soft and has a pretty faux flower tucked into it. Her hair is pulled back very nicely. DSC01555.JPGShe comes wearing gold earrings two gold necklaces. They don’t come off. The gold chain is sort of a big part of her story, but I don’t want to spoil it for you, so let’s move on. 🙂DSC01556.JPG She has a lot of jewelry! These gold bangles are so cute! Also, she has silver anklets on her feet.DSC01557.JPGHer head is poseable-I love that! You can tilt it this way-DSC01558.JPGor that way. 🙂DSC01560.JPGHer arms can move like a Barbie’s.

Neela: I’m freeeeee!

LOL… Neela’s book, Victory Song has a really good story, I loved it!

DSC01564.JPGNeela is a really pretty doll, and I’m so happy to have her! Here’s what I rate her:

Doll: 5 stars

Outfit: 5 stars

Jewelry: 5 stars

Hair: 5 stars

Stand: 4 stars (I wish they could have decorated it a little more, plus the difficulty with her legs)

Overall rating: 4.8 stars

If you find a GOML doll anywhere for a good price, BUY HER! You will not be disappointed! Haha! 🙂

Bye!
