Fresh Breeze, Fresh Start

I KNOW I’M BAD AT TITLES, OK.
Explanation: It was really cold outside when I took these pics, and the ‘fresh start’ refers to a new year. 🙂
I recently had a sleepover with my friend, and we went outside to take some photos of her Josefina doll.

We just used our phones for the pictures, but they turned out really good!

Bloopers 😛
My friend’s little brother was helping us with this photoshoot- he was the one who put the scarf on Josie. XD

Happy New Year, everyone!!! You can visit my other blog for a new year’s post. #shamelessselfpromo

My Guide To the AG Store

Go Sam!
That’s all I have to say about this…🤸🏻‍♀️

untitled-design

OK, Christmas is over people, it’s official.

And in the world of the AG fandom, we’re officially excited for the GOTY, the GOTY release on January 1st, and the sales, Sales, SALES!

I’m going out on a limb here and guessing you’re going to the AG store sometime soon, most likely in 2017.

I’ve been to the AG Place a few times, and when it is really, Really, REALLY Crowded, it can get stressful, and you can even get anxious to leave!

And that should never, ever happen.  The AG store is an American girl fan’s DREAM!

So I thought about some tips and hacks to make you and you doll’s experience at the AG store a great one!

So let’s just get right into this post!

Before you go, you should…

Before you go to the AG store, it’s a great idea to have a plan.  I mean…

Guest Post: Too Young to Write?

I know I JUST posted something, but this post was too good to NOT reblog. I knew I had to do it “write” away. 😛 Okay, I’ll stop with the puns! Now read this post.

Reveries

Hello guys! Today we’re having another guest post. It was written by Miss Libby Beth, who … I just met. I mean, I feel like I just met her, but I kinda know her from YWP NaNoWriMo.

At least, I think I do … but I keep getting people mixed up. I even mix up ‘famous’ NaNo folks. I suppose that’s because I’m not on there often enough anymore to know who’s ‘famous’!? XD

Anyway, you can find her blog (The Author with an Allergy) here. Be sure to check it out for more posts like this one.

{Oh, and I added some comments in … just like this! Sorry, Libby. I’ll remove them if you want!}

I Thought It Was Punny…

Ruthie, the family’s eldest sister, sat in a corner of Rutvi’s room, clothed in layers of sweaters and vests, swaddled in a blanket drinking hot cocoa and reading a book.

She was enjoying the solitude of a chilly Saturday morning.

Yes, I emphasized was. She was enjoying… until Saige came along.

The redhead took one look at her sister’s outfit, shrieked,

covered her eyes,

and collapsed on the floor.

Ruthie bent over her, trying to figure out what had happened.

Finally Saige sat up, and Ruthie sighed in relief. “Saige! Are you ok?”
“You nearly gave me a heart attack, but yes.” She replied.
“What? Why?”
Saige shuddered. “Your…your outfit! It’s hideous! Those pants look like they’re from the 1700s!”
Ruthie crossed her arms over her chest. “It’s cold.”
Brooke plonked herself right next to her sisters. “I heard some commotion. What was that about?” Saige explained the situation. Brooke rolled her eyes. “I can’t believe I’m related to you-you’re both so dramatic. Honestly, Ruthie, Saige faints all the time.” Ruthie giggled then shook her head.
Brooke whispered something into Saige’s ear. “I think we both know the solution to this,” she continued after a while. “A makeover! We’ll get Ruthie in a cozy but cute outfit, all right?”
Then it was Ruthie’s turn to roll her eyes. ” You have got to be kitten me.” She said. As if on cue, Praline stalked into the room.
Suddenly, Rutvi picked up Pinkyfuzz the Monkey and tossed her at Ruthie.
“Quit monkeying around!” She yelled.
But they couldn’t. Ruthie’s sisters watched as she  pulled her blanket around her again-

and started to read.
Without looking up, she said, “I really would, but my weekend’s all booked, ok?”
Brooke and Saige turned away, disheartened.

“It’s too bad that she has to bee so busy.” Saige commented. Brooke nodded.

A LITTLE WHILE LATER

“SAIGE! SAAAAAIGE! Do you know where my soccer ball is? I can’t find it!”
“No, but you can read my book if you’re bored! I think you’ll get a kick out of it!”
“Thanks…but even so, I wonder where it is…”
Brooke murmured. “Hey, I can look under my bed, where the rest of the Things Not Seen must be!” Brooke exclaimed, tucking her own book under her arm.
Saige answered, “Okay, hopefully you get Lucky & find it!”
“Thanks!”Brooke smiled, sprinting to her room.
“What are Sisters for?”

 EVEN LATER…
Ruthie walked into the living room, dragging Blossom the Bear behind her. “I’m so beary hungry.” She complained.
Brooke laughed. “I’d think you’d be, after all that reading. Orange you glad I made cookies?”Ruthie pumped her fist and went away to find them.

*COUGH* *COUGH* *COUGH*
Saige rode in on Gingersnap, wheezing. “What’s wrong??” Brooke asked, alarmed. “I’m not feeling so good, and my voice is kind of horse. I thought riding Gingie might help.” Brooke replied, “Aww, okay. Hope you feel butter.” As she spread the very same stuff on her toast.
But suddenly…all the dolls looked up as Rutvi cleared her throat. In her hand, she held a fistful of grapes.

“You guys have made a bunch of corny puns today, and you’re not that grape at it.”
She griped. “Okay, we’ll stop now.” Saige coughed, holding back laughter. “Only if you post these pictures, though.” Rutvi relented, and walked away to find her computer. “Thanks for being so undersitting!” Brooke called. “Under…what?” “We would say understanding, but you’re sitting. Soooo…”
Rutvi shot a warning look at her dolls before continuing her post, but laughed inside all the same.

Whiskers on Kittens & Warm Woolen Mittens- an AGPS

The first snow of the season has finally arrived! Here are some pictures of Brooke braving the cold with her loyal feline friend, Praline.

🎶raindrops on roses…whiskers on kittens…bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens…🎶

I love The Sound of Music! ❤

Yes, it was snowing as I was taking these photos. And yes, Brooke fell.

Here she is after she fell. FROM A HEIGHT.

If you couldn’t tell, I’m semi-obsessed with headshots of Brooke.
Byeeee!

What it’s REALLY like to be an AG blogger

Hey guys! Today I want to do something different. As I was outside, taking pictures for a photoshoot, I realized how hard it is to be a blogger- that too, one for American Girl Dolls. So here’s an inside scoop on what it’s like! This is a new series on BOTH of my blogs. Yeppers peppers, you heard right! 🌶🌶🌶

On Buzz About AG AND Capturing & Creating, I will be posting things such as behind-the-scenes of how my posts are made, and how me & other bloggers make decisions for our blogs.

Without further ado, here’s some info on what the AGBC {American Girl Blogging Community} is like!

First of all, getting dolls dressed. You know how models have a whole hair and makeup team? Yeah, for us AGBs, we are the whole hair and makeup team. We have to pick an outfit, pick a hairstyle that goes with it, and make sure the outfit compliments the doll. Picking outfits is one of my favorite parts of doing a photoshoot, actually- but it’s definitely hard. Look what my room turns into:

(Saige is half-naked because I wanted Brooke to wear the pants she had on. 😛 )

Look at all those clothes and accessories, though!

So here is problems in an actual photoshoot.

I’m pretty sure this amazing, totally not-out-of-focus pic of my shoe was taken (on accident) when I was picking Brooke up. That’s right…she fell. Which leads to the next thing: AG dolls not being able to stand! Everyone likes a picture of a doll when she looks like a real human, right? Doing a cute pose, or something? Well, that’s what I tried to do. I left Brooke standing on her own for a couple milliseconds while I grabbed Praline the cat for one shot. She was perfectly sturdy. But as I ran back to set Praline next to her owner…she was gone. Horrified, I looked over the edge and sure enough, there was Brooke, lying facedown on the ground, centimeters away from a bush and fallen tree branches. “No….nonononononono!” I moaned. I quickly grabbed Brooke and flipped her to face me. A smudge of dirt smeared her nose, and her hair stood up in all sorts of directions. Water from the fresh snow had gathered on one side of her face, and her earmuffs lay off to the side, completely yanked off her head.
All the preparation that goes into getting your doll ready can be ruined in seconds. Thankfully, I was able to wipe off the dirt and fix her hair.
Doll clothes are NOTHING against Mother Nature. They don’t protect them, they just look cute. Brooke’s leggings are soaked. :/ 😛

^^see the water??

Also, I was busy trying to be a ninja while taking photos. (Don’t tell me you’ve never done this.) I am SUCH a good multitasker!  Look at what I was doing:
  • Trying not to get my boots dirty
  • Freezing because the gloves I put on provide no protection whatsoever
  • Trying extra hard not to drop or ruin the camera
  • Holding a doll and a cat
  • Walking through the snow (I like to take minimal steps, and if I ever have to walk around, I just step back on those same footprints. Yaknowhatimsayin???)

GOING OUT IN THE FREEZING COLD OR SWELTERING HEAT. All you AGBs have been there. When you look out your window and think, “Oh, {doll’s name} would look really cute sitting by that plant.” Or, “Imagine the artsy (ish) and adorable photos I can take with {doll’s name} playing in the snow!”
So yes, the pictures might be great, but what’s gone through to get them…

You might have to sweat your face off (is that possible?) while your doll refuses to stand in the prickly grass.
Or you’ll get hypothermia. JUST KIDDING! You’ll just have numb fingers. But still.
***
And if you’re wondering what I looked like when Brooke was outside looking all cute in her little outfit, you should stop. I had on my jacket, bright blue pajama pants, boots, useless gloves, and my mom’s purple hat.
Yeah.
*shudders*

Now for the last part: people seeing you take pictures. When I was out taking the pics for this AGPS, my neighbor, who was sitting in his backyard, yelled, “Are you taking pictures of me or the doll?” And for the 4th of July parade pics, which I had to take in the front yard, there were so many cars driving by. I even had to take a bunch of photos on the road, so I kept having to move my stuff (I WAS CARRYING A FAKE HORSE, DO YOU KNOW HOW CRAZY I LOOKED) back to the sidewalk. I got a lot of weird looks from strangers then. Also, during the You Belong With Me photoshoot, there’s that one scene where Taylor and the guy are sitting on the bench talking, and then the guy’s girlfriend appears. That part was also shot in my front yard & on the street.

Yep, she’s definitely crazy. People probably thought.
As I was going inside after finally finishing the parade pics, three dolls and a horse tucked under my arm, a guy on a run looked up, made eye contact with me, and then his face twisted into a confused expression. I hurried inside. That was really weird. Bleeeehhhh.

Then there’s the whole thing about uploading pictures, which takes forever. (Btw, the rest of Brooke’s photoshoot will be up soon)

Whelp, all in all, being an AGB is very fun and rewarding, but there’s a whole bunch of things that goes into it.

Doll Sized Finds At Target-CHRISTMAS EDITION🎄

Heyllo, everyone! 🙂 Yesterday I went to Target and found some cute doll-sized stuff in the dollar section. Check it out!

First is this adorable bundle of yarn, I think it would be cute to make a photostory where a doll knits a bunch of scarves for her friends/sisters for a Christmas gift. 😍 It’s the perfect size!

These are Christmas card holders, but let’s be honest, who’s going to use them as card holders when your doll can have a super cute snow globe?!

Great for storage space in your doll’s room or stuffing Santa’s elves into if they put coals in your doll’s stocking.

Looook at thissss. Imagine how cute it’d look with tiny ornaments in your doll’s room!

I’m typing this on the airplane, btw- how cool is that?! I’m SOOOO excited! Unfortunately, I still have to be on this flight for an hour. :[

And there’s a shot of the view. 😉

⛪🐮, I can’t wait to land!!!!!!!!!!!!
